Chief Joseph Leabua Jonathan -  DOCUMENTARIES

Chief Joseph Leabua Jonathan (1914-1987) was the first prime minister of independent Lesotho. For 20 years he struggled to maintain a good-neighbour status despite the racial policies of the republic of South Africa.

There aren’t many world leaders capable of generating such good will, towards them as Chief Joseph Jonathan Leabua. He was a man different to all others, a man that sacrificed everything he could for his ideals, the legacy he left for the future generation, is a legacy of hope kindness and equality. He showed extraordinary passion for the liberation of the African continent. His love for his people withstood the risks involved in this political vision, including threats on his life. Jonathan was a good and true comrade of liberation movement.

We are currently shooting a multipart documentary about and around him and his work. The episodes are shown regularly on Lesotho TV.
